A Web designer who combines clear business goals with clean Web design. That’s me.

I’m an experienced Web site designer who loves HTML and happy clients. I stay focused on business objectives, delivering high-quality Web design with intensive care. I’m a true specialist: I design only for the Web.

Most often, I build sites on top of Content Management Systems like Drupal and WordPress so my clients can update and manage their own sites. For other projects, I’m sometimes brought in to work solely on design and presentation issues—for example to redesign a home page.

I code to Web Standards, the modern best-practice coding technique that ensures accessibility in all Internet devices (not just desktop browsers) and guarantees sites are as lean and search-engine-friendly as possible.

As defined by the Web Standards Project, Web standards are best-practice coding techniques which have been “carefully designed to deliver the greatest benefits to the greatest number of Web users while ensuring the long-term viability of any document published on the Web. Designing and building with these standards simplifies and lowers the cost of production, while delivering sites that are accessible to more people and more types of Internet devices. Sites developed along these lines will continue to function correctly as traditional desktop browsers evolve, and as new Internet devices come to market.” [Hide]

I’m as comfortable in a text editor as I am in Photoshop—but I also know the smartest work is done away from the computer.

Background

I’m based in New York but I design for companies all over the U.S. and in Europe. My studio delivers stylish, clean, highly-useable Web interfaces. I’ve never owned a black polo neck.

I handle all aspects of Web site design. My subspecialities include: market positioning, information architecture, user experience and user interaction design, usability testing, page flow, coding, and project management.

To get the ball rolling, I take a full brief and help set clear goals for a site. Then, I take care of everything else: design, navigation systems, information architecture, final error-free coding, even domains and hosting.

I work for clients of all shapes and sizes:

  • Corporations
  • Not-For-Profits
  • Museums
  • Local Bodies
  • Entrepreneurs

I’m a surgeon. I make Web sites well.
